Michael D. Robinson, M.P.H., M.B.A., J.D., LL.M. is an attorney licensed by Illinois, and multiple federal jurisdictions including: the Supreme Court of the United States, the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, and the Northern District of Illinois; and he currently runs a small health law practice, The Law Firm of Michael D. Robinson & Associates, L.L.C., located in Chicago, where the firm focuses on food and drug law, regulatory compliance, and professional licensure. Mr. Robinson is also a member of Phi Delta Phi.
Mr. Robinson has served as Adjunct Professor of Law, overseeing a required first year law course, Expert Learning, with the faculty director of the program over several semesters at The John Marshall Law School, Chicago, Illinois. Mr. Robinson has experience doing trial work in both the state and federal courts and has successfully written briefs for, and orally argued in front of, the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
Mr. Robinson is a frequent guest lecturer at other law and graduate schools including National University in Lombard, Illinois; DePaul College of Law, Chicago, Illinois; Loyola School of Law Chicago, Illinois; and The John Marshall Law School of Chicago, Illinois.
Previously, Mr. Robinson worked for the United States Food and Drug Administration as Deputy Director of the Chicago District Investigations Branch. He also served in various compliance and leadership positions over a seven year FDA career. Prior, as a trained federal investigator, Mr. Robinson developed multiple cases for judicial and administrative actions including seizures, injunctions, and criminal prosecutions. He was trained and specialized in biologics and pharmaceutical products. Additionally, Mr. Robinson was the Chapter President for the NTEU (National Treasury Employees Union) and previously served as Chapter Vice-President of the same; he successfully negotiated multiple claims of employee grievances against management for fellow federal employees. Prior to joining the FDA, Mr. Robinson worked for over five years in a health care setting.
Mr. Robinson received his Master of Laws in Health Law and his LL.M. Certificate in Compliance from Loyola University Chicago School of Law. Mr. Robinson received his Master of Laws in Trial Advocacy and Dispute Resolution, with honors; Juris Doctor; and J.D. Certificate in Health Law from The John Marshall Law School in Chicago. While a law student, he served as Executive Justice in the Moot Court Honors Program and was a Morrissey Scholar. Mr. Robinson received his Master of Public Health, Master of Business Administration, and Bachelor of Science degrees from Benedictine University in Lisle, Illinois, and is a member of Sigma Beta Delta.
